Today I want to give you a tour of my bedroom here at school. Step right in and let me show you around!

As mentioned in my apartment tour, some of my room is pre-furnished. The bed-frame, desk, desk chair, and dresser were all provided, so decorating mostly consisted of accessorizing.

Here are two pictures to give you the feel for the layout. Entering through the door with the USA map, you'll notice my desk right in front of you and my bed to the side. The larger double doors across from the bed are my closet and the remaining door is to the bathroom (yes, I do have my own. yes, I know most college students aren't this spoiled. and yes, I am very thankful).

I've seriously had my eye on this bedspread for a few years. I love the simplicity of the white with the fun tassels and that it allowed me to use any colors I wanted for the pillows, art, and decor.

My vibe is definitely coastal with an adventure/travel theme. Bohemian comes through in the tassels and textures. My room is seriously my retreat and someone even told me, "I feel like I'm on vacation when I come in here." That is the goal my friends! Honestly, I feel like the whole point of design is to create a space that is so "you" it becomes a restful, inspiring place.

I love to be surrounded by pictures of my friends and family...I even have a calendar of sorts on my closet with one big event from each month of last year (beginning in August...haha still on the school schedule and that feels like the real new year ;))

My MAKE TODAY AMAZING magnet board was a graduation gift and I absolutely LOVE it! https://amzn.to/2TYG7tGAnd
The pictures remind me of a few of the amazing places I've been :)

My desk is one of my favorite places in my room. I happen to spend a lot of time there, so I made sure to surround myself with inspiration! The map says "For I know You can do anything, and no one can stop You. Job 42:2" This verse is such a reminder of God's power to me, and seeing it over the map reminds me that He is truly in control of it ALL. My friends and family all signed it at my open house, so it always makes me smile! Underneath I have some of my favorite pictures and an ongoing collection of verses and quotes on index cards that continue to fill up my wall. You'll also notice my day-planner notepad below which is a LIFESAVER in college. I like to keep my calendar on my phone so I can update it on the fly, but this helps me keep organized for the week ahead.
The VW picture under my calligraphy blackboard was drawn by my incredibly talented friend for my birthday. Oh my goodness, it made my day! VWs are kinda my thing and I DREAM of owning one some day and traveling to beaches in my little camper van. Someday maybe I'll do a post on all my paraphernalia :)
These scratch off maps are my newest addition to the room and I LOVE them! (can be found at serengetti.com) They keep me super excited about travel and my next destination, and will someday be mostly colorful...if you're picking up what I'm putting down. Do people even say that anymore?

Another area I love is my nightstand! I stacked a few wooden crates, and boom. Nightstand. Many of my books and notebooks are stored in it and my pineapple lamp is just the greatest, if I do say so myself.
You also may have noticed that I keep my instruments (keyboard and ukulele) accessible...for me it is so important to remind yourself to unwind by keeping de-stressors and non-school related hobbies front and center in your space!

And read this quote. Ah. Love it. So much truth in it, and something I read very often at the moment.

Anyway, that's all I've got for ya today! Things have been crazy starting this semester and there's just a lot going on in life right now, but I am glad to be back in a bit of a routine. If you happen to have a three day weekend with MLK day, milk it for all it's worth and I'll catch you on the flip side.
